Cabbage Salad (Mona’s Salad of Anguish)
Description
Mona Das, a friend that I worked with at Now Software (the late 90s in Portland), brought this to a party. In an attempt to toast the sesame seeds under the broiler, she went through three $8 jars before getting some that weren’t burnt. It cost a lot of money and stress. This is what Chuck called the salad after hearing the story. I set the recipe difficulty as "hard," but that’s just for anyone that doesn’t pay attention to the broiler. Also, you can toast seeds in a skillet.
Following her career online, wondering if it should be updated to be Senator Das’ Salad of Anguish.
