Pear Dessert

Description

Chuck and I had this for the first time on a ski trip. A friend of a friend brought it. It was delicious. I don’t do a ton of baking anymore, but this one is worth sharing. It goes together quickly, looks pretty. It was one of our go to company desserts for a long time.

Ingredients

Crust

1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup sugar
1/4 teaspoon vanilla
3/4 cup flour
2/3 cup walnuts, chopped

Filling

8 ounces cream cheese
1/4 cup sugar
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
Topping
1 large canned pears, drained and cut into 1/4ths
1 teaspoon cinnamon
1 teaspoon sugar

Directions

For crust: Cream together butter, sugar and vanilla. Sift and Add flour and walnuts. Blend ingredients together and press into a 9 x13 inch pan. Bake for 10 minutes at 350 degrees.


For filling: Whip cream cheese, sugar, egg and vanilla with electric mixer and set on baked crust.
Topping: Spread pears neatly on cheese mixture. Mix together cinnamon and sugar. Sprinkle over pears.
Bake for 25 minutes at 350 degrees. Let cool and refrigerate.
